Booking
How far ahead do people book?
Summer Saturdays usually go eighteen months to two years ahead. Weekdays and winter dates are often still free six months out.
How do we hold a date?
A 25% deposit holds it. The balance is due twelve weeks before the wedding.
Can we see the house first?
Yes. Viewings are on weekday afternoons and the first Sunday of each month. Most couples come twice: once to decide, and again to plan the details.
What if we need to change the date?
We will move the booking once, to any free date in the same season, at no charge. After that the deposit is kept.
On the day
Can we bring our own caterer?
We work with two caterers who know the kitchen. Another caterer can be approved for a fee of £750, which covers our kitchen manager being there on the day.
When does it finish?
The bar closes and the music stops at 11.30pm. Carriages are at midnight.
Can we have fireworks?
No. The farm next door keeps horses. Sparklers are fine on the front lawn.
Is confetti allowed?
Petal confetti, outdoors only.
Can our dog come?
Yes, in the gardens and the Orangery. Someone will need to look after them during dinner.
Getting here and staying
Is the house accessible?
The ground floor, the Orangery and the walled garden are step-free. The bedrooms are on the first floor and there is no lift.
Where do guests park?
There is space for 60 cars by the coach house. We can book taxis for midnight.
Can guests stay at the house?
Twelve bedrooms sleep 26, booked together for the wedding night with breakfast. For everyone else there are four hotels within ten miles, and we send a list with your booking.
